Individual Counseling

Talk therapy is a profound experience and an opportunity to learn what makes us make decisions and behave in certain ways. We identify patterns and then values (how I would like to make decisions) and make commitments to ourselves to take responsibility and accountability for our own actions and thoughts. We learn how to deal with difficult emotions, what techniques we are using now and how effective those techniques are (is that really working for you?). Also, if you see a therapist for a few sessions, you do not have to go forever. Short term and goal focused time limited therapy is possible. I prefer to work weekly with clients (especially couples) at least at first. Therapy is difficult to accept sometimes (Does going to therapy mean I am not perfect?). That is why people wait so long and use it as a last resort. I have worked with clients from first timers to therapy pros to psychiatrists and other therapists.
